How it works:

1. Choose a vehicle size – see the guide below for help selecting the right one.

2. Add pick-up & delivery stops – up to 26 locations.

3. Select extras – helpers, open or closed vehicle options, and more.

4. View your final price – the “Job Quote” shows the exact amount you’ll pay. No surprises, unless you update the job details later.

Please note: the quoted price covers up to one full load. Additional charges may apply if the total volume of goods across all pick-up locations exceeds the capacity of your chosen vehicle size.

Rates are calculated based on:

• Vehicle size

• Distance

• Number of stops

• Extras (e.g., additional helpers, shuttles, closed-body vehicles, etc.)

Discounts:
Volume discounts may apply based on booking size — speak to your friendly Mafa Transport & Logistics representative for details. Rates may also vary depending on timing:

• Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 07:30–15:30

• Off-peak dates: 3rd–25th of each month

Please Note:

Important: Some residential complexes restrict access for larger vehicles. Please check with your complex management to confirm allowable vehicle sizes. If you’re unsure—especially when considering a 3 Ton Truck—contact Mafa’s helpline to discuss the best vehicle options and shuttle solutions for your needs.

If all your items don’t fit in the selected vehicle, a second load with the same driver can be arranged.

Vehicle Options

1 Ton Bakkie

• Max Weight: 1,000 kg | Deck: 2.20m × 1.45m | Open only

• Capacity: Double bed + single door fridge + washing machine + a few smaller items

• Helpers: 1 helper required unless all items are small and light enough for one person

1.5 Ton Bakkie

• Max Weight: 1,300 kg | Deck: 2.78m × 1.63m | Closed Height: 1.8m | Open/Closed options

• Capacity: Double bed + two 2-seater sofas + washing machine + double door fridge + small items

• Helpers: 1 helper required unless all items are small and light enough for one person

3 Ton Bakkie

• Max Weight: 3,000 kg | Deck: 4.30m × 1.80m | Closed Height: 2.1m | Open/Closed options

• Capacity: 2-bedroom contents + lounge + dining room + appliances + smaller items

• Note: Unless a closed body is specifically requested, Mafa may provide a 1.5 Ton Bakkie with a trailer of equivalent capacity

• Helpers: 2 helpers recommended for efficient handling

8 Ton Truck

• Max Weight: 6,800 kg | Deck: 7.20m × 2.40m | Closed Height: 2.4m | Open/Closed options

• Capacity: Full contents of most 2–3 bedroom homes

• Helpers: 3 helpers recommended for high-volume moves

Ancillary Equipment

All Mafa vehicles come equipped with blankets, ropes, and weatherproof tarpaulins (for open vehicles) to ensure your goods are safe and protected.

Preparing for Your Move

To ensure a smooth and efficient move, please pack all small items into boxes or containers before your Mafa driver arrives. Fragile items should be carefully wrapped to protect them during transport.

Your Mafa driver will assist with loading and unloading both large items and your boxed small items. Need extra hands? No problem! Simply book “Additional Helpers” on the Book Now page.

For household moves, we recommend the following helpers based on your vehicle:

• 1 Ton Bakkie: 1 additional helper for items too heavy for one person

• 1.5 Ton Bakkie: 1 additional helper for items too heavy for one person

• 3 Ton Truck: 1–2 additional helpers depending on load size and weight

• 8 Ton Truck: 3 additional helpers

There are two ways to handle this:

1. Contact the Mafa Helpline – Our team will help you choose the best vehicle configuration for your specific complex.

2. Use Our Shuttle Service – If large vehicles aren’t allowed inside your complex, simply:

   • Order a large vehicle (3 Ton Truck or bigger) to stay outside.

   • Order a shuttle vehicle (1.5 Ton Bakkie) to transport your goods between the large vehicle and your unit.

Tip: If you need this service for both pickup and delivery, remember to order two shuttles.

Yes, you can. After telling us where the first pick up location is, you can then choose other locations from where we can either pick up or deliver your stuff to (or a bit of both). Just note: extra loads beyond your vehicle’s capacity may incur additional charges.

Mafa does NOT offer compensation for loss or damage of goods unless specifically stated on the job, or explicitly negotiated in advance. Please call our helpline to discuss your specific requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We accept Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards.

When creating a job, you’ll have the option to add a card. Simply follow the prompts to load your preferred card and select it as your payment method for that job. You can also manage your saved cards at any time in the Cards section of the menu.

For security purposes, a R1.00 authorisation (not a charge) is performed when a new card is added to verify validity. The full payment for your job will only be processed on the day of the job, once the driver has arrived, inspected the load, and started the job.

Please note: Our drivers do not accept cash payments. All payments must be made via EFT or online card payment through the platform.

Helpful Tip:
Mafa Transport & Logistics does not store your card details. All payments are processed securely via PayFast, a trusted payment provider used by over 10 million cardholders, offering world-class fraud protection and security.

You will have access to your driver’s name and phone number on the web app for each specific job that you have created. This will be available to you approximately one hour before the pickup time you requested. If you need your driver’s details before this time, please contact Mafa by email or phone.

If your job requires the Mafa crew to carry your goods up or down stairs, from one floor to the next, there will be an additional charge per floor. 

(There’s no extra charge if there’s a lift that can fit your goods.)

Mafa currently operates in the greater Gauteng  region. 

Please Note:

Regrettably we are not a long distance operator, so we cannot assist with jobs where the total distance is greater than 250 kms.

An invoice for every job is available.

The invoice is issued on behalf of the driver who completed the job. As small, micro enterprises, our drivers are not VAT vendors so the amounts reflecting on the invoice do not include VAT.

By default, the invoice is issued to the name of the user who booked the job. Feel free to update the name of the user, under the Profile menu, if you need the invoice issued to someone else or a company.

Yes you can! But this functionality – we call Preferred Drivers – is reserved for our regular customers only.

Once you have qualied by doing enough jobs over a period of time, we will notify you via email and a new DRIVERS menu item will be available to you. All you now need to do is select which of your previous drivers you would like to see again. It’s that simple.

Helpful Hint:

In the unlikely event that we can’t allocate your job to one of your preferred drivers, we will send another friendly Mafa  driver to do the job. To increase your chances of getting a preferred driver, please give us as much lead time as you can and add as many preferred drivers to your list as possible.

Mafa allows you to capture a Contact Name, Contact Number, Reference Number, and Additional Information for every address in your job, including the pickup and all destinations. Just click the “Add more details” link on either the “Additional info” page during the booking process or on the Job Summary page at the end.

There’s also an option to “Keep this Contact updated with timely delivery notifications via Email ?”. If you select this option for a contact, Mafa will keep the contact updated via Email throughout the delivery process.

Helpful Hint:

The reference number on each delivery address could be an invoice, quote or any other customer-specific number that will help you reconcile all the orders that were delivered in that job.

• Resize your web browser so you can see the browser and your desktop in the same screen.
• Highlight the full URL address https://mafatransport.co.za/
• Click and hold on this highlighted URL, then drag to your desktop.

Shortcut on your mobile (Android):

• Launch Chrome for Android and open the web page https://mafatransport.co.za/
• Tap the menu button and tap “Add to homescreen”. You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.

Shortcut on your mobile (iOS):

• Launch a browser on Apple’s iOS and navigate to https://mafatransport.co.za/
• Tap the “Share” button on the browser’s toolbar — that’s the rectangle with an arrow pointing upward. It’s on the bar at the top of the screen on an iPad, and on the bar at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
• Tap the “Add to Home Screen” icon in the “Share” menu.
